La Secretaría de Cultura y Turismo de Cali, tiene a un nuevo secretario encargado

Tomó posesión como secretario encargado de esta cartera de la ciudad, el abogado Mario Alfonso Escobar Medina, quien venía desempeñándose como asesor de Asuntos Étnicos de la Alcaldía. El alto funcionario aseguró que dará cumplimiento a las actividades programadas en la Agenda Cultural de Cali y a las directrices del alcalde Rodrigo Guerrero Velasco.

El nuevo secretario encargado de Cultura asume por 15 días los compromisos de la titular de este despacho, María Helena Quiñónez, quien en ese lapso adelantará una visita a España. Allí promueve el desarrollo cultural de la ciudad, durante la Feria Internacional de Turismo (Fitur), la cual, se cumple en Madrid. 

El funcionario ya ha participado en reuniones preparatorias de los World Games o Juegos Mundiales, los cuales, se llevarán a cabo del 25 de julio al 4 de agosto de este año. 

Escobar Medina también interviene activamente en el equipo coordinador de la III Cumbre Mundial de Mandatarios y Líderes Afrodescendientes, que se cumplirá en Cali, del 12 al 14 de septiembre.

El secretario encargado manifestó que para el miércoles 6 de febrero, se reunirá en Bogotá con Óscar Gamboa, alto Consejero Presidencial para la Población Afrodescendiente, Palenquera y Raizal, para definir acciones en la organización de la cumbre.
